I’m a man of habit. If I find something I like, I usually stick to it for as long as possible. When you travel a lot, you start looking for some sort of routine or stability. I don’t know why, but that’s just how my mind works.
When I was briefly living in Warsaw, I found a bar that quickly became my favorite spot in the city. I got to know the bartenders and some local regulars who were there even more often than I was.
But life goes on. You move to another country, you travel. So when I recently came back to Warsaw, almost six years later, I decided to drop in for a drink, not expecting anyone to remember me.
I stepped inside and saw that one of the bartenders was still there, though I wasn’t sure if he’d recognize me. But he did. We talked, and for a moment, it felt like the place hadn’t changed much. Then I noticed that some of the regulars were still around. This place hadn’t changed at all.
But have I?
